RAW FIT TRAINING 6 Week Challenge

This is my Fitness journey! Over the next 6 weeks I will be adhering to “THE RFT CHALLNEGE.” Being a certified personal trainer doesn’t always mean you have the motivation for yourself. After suffering an injury last summer it took me awhile to feel comfortable working out again, but now I am ready to give it my all and lose the excess body fat. Being 5’3 any weight gain is extremely noticeable and I miss feeling happy with my body! So TODAY marks the first day of the six week program. I will be following a strict diet that eliminates sugars and excess carb, fats, & did I say sugars?!?  Oh well there is always sacrifice in gaining what you want. The diet is full of veggies, and lean proteins. You also can have pasta, rice, potatoes and Ezekiel bread so at least you feel semi normal. Now lets get down to business!

 The Weigh In….

So an ideal body fat percentage for women would be between 21-24%. SO I am in range (Top number)  however I’d personally like to see this fall slightly by a point or two. The bottom number represents the body mass index (BMI).  BMI is very important to ensure your weight is appropriate to your height.  An ideal range is between 18.5-24.9. As you can see mine is still within range but again my personal goal would be to lower this a little more.

So my troublesome areas that make me feel self conscious are my love handles and my butt which is why my goal through this is to tone and tighten those areas up. Next would be my core and getting my stomach flattened with more ab definition. Weight isn’t as much as a concern for me as long as I am seeing results. Its about health here not vanity! Below are some of the exercises we did in our circuit today. RFT is great at incorporating various exercises that target the specific muscle groups while getting the heart rate up to aid in cardiovascular fitness AKA weight loss.

I will be adhering to the required three days a week per RFT challenge; however, I plan on still attending my yoga or piloga classes during the weekends. In general 3 days is a good place to start if you are new or getting back into working out. For me since I have rehabbed I feel more comfortable aiming for 5 days a week. Staying active is a lifestyle and during the summer months especially I find it to be more conducive since the kids are out of school. Finding a way to keep your self healthy and active is a MUST for all mamas. Weight loss can happen you just need to make a plan and stick to it! Stay tuned you’re not going to want to miss this transformation!
